P49 Preliminary Renderings

It is still a work in progress but I am close to complete the general design of the car. Next comes the chassis completion probably in next 2 months time. I will be running some CFD test on the bodywork I have so far 3 different models and 4 different rear wings to try.

P49 Chassis stress tests

P49 front and roll hoop stress tests
Preliminary chassis stress tests, 29545 N of resultant force applied during the test to observe possible failure point. Load applied was excessive to fail the material. on in front impact conditions one of the support beams failed which is good i assume. These are only preliminary test that were done couple months back. I will publish more detailed tests in the future with more complete chassis. Survival cell is build from 4130 steel and weighs under 84 kg. in the test some of the support beams were hidden just to make the test faster to get results.

Preliminary chassis

 P49 Progress

My latest design which progress awfully slow, started its life as a group CN car then I modified the car to be a sports car which ended up being larger than planned but it is still more nimble than most sports cars in the market. Car is design to accommodate engines from 6 cyl flat Porsche to Chevy LS7 with varies gearbox choices.

I actually designed this car back in 2013 amongst the other projects and my health problem, I didn't have much time to work on it, but P49 is coming along slowly. and It will be the first sports car that i have designed since late 2011.
