P09

P09

P09-1 Road Car
P09 started its life as successful version of P07. back in 2001 i was working on some mid-engined sports car designs, which started with P06 and ended with P10. Among them P09 was the successor. Idea was to built a cheaper, agile and small sports car. Already in 2000s sports car were getting bigger and heavier which i dislike. car designed with a tubular chassis and engine is located behind the driver. I developed P09 from late 2001 to 2004 there were actually 4 different models with 2 experimental bodywork and 2 actual bodywork which were worth of rendering.

Dimensions of the car:
Length: 4384 mm (racing version) 4480 mm (road version)
Width: 1960 mm
Height: 1082 mm (bodywork height + 100 mm for road version ground clearance and + 55 mm for racing version ground clearance)
Wheelbase: 2665 mm
Front Over-hang: 900 mm
Rear Over-hang: 819 mm (racing version) 915 mm (road version)

P09 is also the only car that i designed without sophisticated ground effects. car does have flat floor including a flat front diffuser.

Face of the car was inspired from cat fish, radiator inlets make the car look like a grumpy cat fish. Racing version has slightly smaller side inlets for oil coolers and green house suddenly drops down as soon as cockpit ends, yet green house is quite smooth that i believe that would add minor drag penalty to the car.
